Region 4 Driver's Capsule Training (continued)

Note the divers monitoring the progress of the driver underwater, while at the same time the capsule could be rotated right side up quickly should a problem develop. It is felt that our Rescue staff (all volunteers by the way) are the best in the business. On race day, the entire Rescue staff tour the pit area and examine each boat and note the way the canopy opens as well as any idiosyncrasies concerning latches. These men and women are the utmost professionals, and  take their duties very seriously. I cannot say enough positive things about their actions before, during, and after a race. They arrive early to prepare and stay late. We are fortunate to have their help, and I know I am not alone in my opinion.

Note the expression of joy on my face as I wedge myself into the capsule. At this point the Rescue staff is thinking things like, " Will this moron please HURRY UP!!!"

David Coes and Dan Ramsey exchange driver's suit and try to stay warm. While the water was heated, the training was held outdoors. It was a bit chilly.
